Vandal commit, Frazier, named P1FCU Prep Athlete of Week
CLARKSTON, WA —
This week’s P1FCU “Prep Athlete of the Week” award goes to a young lady who has been dominating the links at the high school level for the better part of four years. Grace Frazier made her verbal commitment to play golf in college just last week and the “Prep Athlete of the Week” couldn’t be more excited about her move!
"I'm really excited cuz I recently just signed with U-of-I and I've been wanting to play there for quite a while now but U-of-I is such a family,” said Frazier. “I love their golf team. Their coach is amazing; I love the girls on the team."
Grace has been pure fire this season winning five of her seven events she’s partaken in and she says it’s just a mindset that has allowed her to play as well as she has.
"I definitely go into every tournament expecting to win because that's what I expect out of myself,” said Frazier. “And the end goal for this season would definitely be to win state this year."
Frazier has come just short of a state title the last couple years, placing second in 2015 and eighth place last year, but Grace does enjoy doing other things in her free time.
"I like to golf, surprisingly,” said Frazier. “Golf is not like just a hobby it's definitely like a passion. I'm here every day for hours."
No! seriously she really does do more than just eat. Sleep and breath golf!
"I love music,” said Frazier. “I've played the piano for 12 years now and I still get lessons and that's a huge part of my life. I just love creating music too, it's just kind of an outlet to put all of my emotions into and just create something beautiful. I also live playing the guitar, ukulele, just any instrument I can get my hands on I enjoy playing."
And with that, we’d like to congratulate Grace on being named this week’s “Prep Athlete of the Week” and wish her nothing but success in the future.
We hope you enjoyed meeting Grace this evening. Each week throughout the school year KLEW Sports and P1FCU team up to highlight a deserving athlete in the area. If you have someone you’d like to nominate you can shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll showcase those athletes right here on KLEW-TV for their outstanding accomplishments.
