12th Man turns out to bowl with the Seahawks

SEATTLE -- It was a sold out night for Seattle Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril.

On Monday night he hosted the United Way of King County Charity Bowling Bash at West Seattle Bowl, where ticket buyers got a chance to bowl with members of the team's defensive line.

Michael Bennett, Red Bryant and Brandon Mebane were among the players who signed autographs for the 12th Man.

Avril is a strong supporter of Strikes for Kids, which makes sure children are properly educated and get the extra tutoring help they may need.

"It's all about the kids for me, you know," Avril said. "I have a 2-year old son, and education is key."

Monday's event was so popular that organizers added more tickets, which also quickly sold out. The 12th Man bowled with extra energy knowing their team is just two games away from the Superbowl.

"When you put a good cause and then one of my favorite passions -- football -- together, then it's hard to miss out on that," one bowler said.
