Bench Coach, Robby Thompson, is acting manager of the Mariners

SEATTLE, WA - The Mariners say manager, Eric Wedge, suffered a "very mild" stroke this week but is well enough to be released from the hospital.

The 45-year-old Wedge was hospitalized Monday after complaining about light-headedness during batting practice. He underwent a battery of tests and was sent home from the hospital Wednesday.

Bench Coach, Robby Thompson, served as acting manager during the team's three-game set against the Cleveland Indians and will continue to run the club for the next three series.

The Mariner's lost to Cleveland Thursday 10-1, ending their eight-game winning streak.

The Mariner's hit the road to take on the Minnesota Twins Thursday evening.
