Manuel will start over former Cougar quarterback Tuel

LEWISTON, ID - Over the past two weeks, we've talked about a former Cougar quarterback potentially making history in the NFL.

But unfortunately, that won't be in the stars as first round draft pick EJ Manuel will be starting for the Buffalo Bills over former Washington State Quarterback Jeff Tuel for their season opener this Sunday. Last week Tuel was slated as the starting quarterback if Manuel couldn't play due to a recent knee surgery when the New England Patriots visit Buffalo this Sunday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

If Tuel would have started, he would have become the first undrafted rookie free agent to start at NFL regular season game in the modern draft era.
