NFL Combine results include former Cougar Deone Bucannon

PULLMAN, WA - With the NFL Combine finishing up Tuesday, a standout Cougar player finally got his chance to show what he's got as he prepares to enter the NFL.

With hundreds of NFL coaches, scouts, and personnel watching, former Washington State Safety, Deone Bucannon took the field in Indianapolis hoping to up his draft status. When all said and done, he was deemed a top performer in four of the six events he ran, including running a 4.49 in the 40-yard dash, leaping 36.5 inches in the vertical jump, bounding 125 inches in the broad jump, and repping 225 pounds 19 times on the bench press. His 19 reps on the bench was the third most of any defensive back in the combine.

According to scouts from they like his physicalness and tackling, but feel he has average speed and needs work in the coverage game. As of now, he is predicted to be drafted in the fourth to fifth round of the draft.
