Gilliam to join 49ers after Seattle doesn't match offer
SEATTLE, WA —
Another Seahawk who is not and will not appear at this week’s voluntary workouts is offensive lineman Garry Gilliam. The fourth year right tackle will join the San Francisco 49ers on a one-year $2.2-million deal with $1.4 of it guaranteed.
The Niner’s signed Gilliam to an offer sheet on Monday and Seattle had five days to match the offer but decided early they would not welcome back the Penn State product to Seattle. The move will likely force Germain Ifedi to move from right guard to right tackle. The 27-year-old started 29 games over the past two seasons for the Hawks.
