Seahawks listening to trade offers for Sherman
SEATTLE, WA —
Despite putting together another Pro Bowl season, Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman had one of the most difficult seasons since arriving in Seattle. And because of this, the Seahawks may be having second thoughts on the All-Pro veteran.
Pete Carroll confirmed Wednesday that the Seahawks have received and listened to trade offers for Sherman but a move isn’t expected. GM John Schneider shared the same message on Sherman yesterday (Tuesday) during owner meetings in Phoenix.
Sherman was involved in two sideline blowups last season that were directed at coaches, one involving defensive coordinator Kris Richard and another in week 15 when the Seahawks attempted a pass play from the one-yard line against the Rams.
The 28-year-old has two years remaining on his contract that will pay him just over $22 million.
