“Academic All-Star” Ben Trigsted solves math problems for fun
LEWISTON, ID —
KLEW cares about you and that’s why every week throughout the school year we feature an outstanding high school senior in the area.
This week’s “Academic All-Star” comes to us from Lewiston High School.
This Lewiston High School Bengal is making his voice heard on a local and national level.
“Already voted, so I got that going for me,” said Ben Trigsted.
Benjamin Trigsted is a 4.0 student and has always loved math. In seventh grade, he would go home after school and solve math problems for fun.
"I taught myself precalculus and then my dad and I went through calculus,” said Trigsted.
When his head is not buried in the books, you can find him putting away at a local golf course.
“I'm on the golf team at school, I also golf in the summer,” said Trigsted. “I love to fly fish; I am on the youth advisory for the City of Lewiston."
Trigsted is currently applying for college and he has his eyes set on one particular school.
"I'm doing early committal to Stanford,” said Trigsted.
But he also has a plan-B if that doesn’t work out.
"I'll probably go to maybe Harvard or Yale if I don't go to Stanford," said Trigsted.
Congratulations Benjamin Trigsted, you’re this week’s “Academic All-Star.”
