Academic All-Star: Brian Lawrence

KLEW cares about you, that’s why every week we feature a student who excels in and out of the classroom.

High school can seem to drag out for some, but for Kendrick High School senior Brian Lawrence that isn’t the case. “In the blink of an eye you’re there,” said Brian.

He’s eight days away from graduating and he’s built up quite the resume during his high school career.

“Football, baseball, basketball and track,” said Brian.

Four sports, along with a 3.83 GPA, and he’s the student body president.

“My brother was also the ASB president here,” he explained. “And so he really wanted me to get involved.”

He said there’s a lot of late nights but it’s all worth it. He plans to attend Walla Walla Community College this fall majoring in animal science and fire ecology.

“I volunteer at the local fire department so that really interests me a lot. I grew up on a farm, and so I really enjoy animals and cows and stuff, so I want to be a veterinarian.”

When he looks back on his high school career, he will remember it only one way.

“Be able to say I made it, and that everybody else in our class has made it too.”

Congratulations Brian. You’re this week’s Academic All-Star.
