KLEW cares about you, that’s why each week during the school year, we feature an outstanding high school senior who sets themselves apart from the norm.

KLEW News Reporter Kaila Lafferty introduces us to this week’s “Academic All-Star” from Kamiah.

Chynna Wilcox is a junior at Kamiah High School. She likes to stay involved, particularly as a leader.

"I'm the president of our HOSA club, which is a medical club, and I'm the vice-president of KEY club, which is like community service, and I'm the vice-president of my class,” said Wilcox.

On top of that she maintains a 4.0 GPA.

“I prep my time wisely, so that I don't forget anything that I'm supposed to be doing,” said Wilcox.

Her favorite classes are math, science, and of course, medal shop. Most recently she made a gate.

"This is sheet metal that we got a piece of, and I cut all these shapes out of it, and then I built this frame for it and welded it in,” said Wilcox.

But one of her biggest passions is serving her community.

"My parents taught me to help people that were less fortunate, or couldn't do it themselves, so I find happiness in helping people,” said Wilcox.

Congratulations Chynna, you’re this week’s “Academic All-Star.”
