Consistency is key for Academic All-Star Marcus Johnson
GENESEE, ID —
Genesee High School senior Marcus Johnson has his post-graduation goals set high.
"After high school, I plan on going to the U of I and studying mechanical engineering,” said Marcus. “I've just always liked the idea of becoming an engineer."
And if you were to ask him what he enjoys the most in school, the answer you’ll get isn’t something you hear very often.
"I'm really into math; I know that kinda sounds a little funny, but I like the way it works,” he said.
But while he’s still working his way to his goal, Marcus has his schedule packed with activities.
"Yeah, it's pretty hard…. You just have to find a way to balance it,” explained Marcus.
He’s in FFA and has a 4.0 GPA. To top it all off he plays on Genesee’s football team. That team is currently in the 1A division 1 semi-finals. But to Marcus, it’s more than just playing football.
"Pretty much just family,” he said. “We're all so close, and it's been just a really good experience."
And his message to all high school students...
"The key to being successful in high school is to be consistent,” said Johnson.
Congratulations Marcus, you’re this week’s Academic All-Star.
