LHS Valedictorian Will Wilson earns Academic All-Star accolades

KLEW cares about you, that’s why every week we feature a local student who is excelling in and out of the classroom.

KLEW News Reporter Shannon Moudy introduces us to this week’s “Academic All-Star.”

As ASB President, Will Wilson leads the pack at Lewiston High School but those days will soon be ending as this Bengal is graduating in one short month.

“I’m excited…. I’m not counting my days, I’m enjoying each and every one of them,” said Wilson.

He’s spent the last four years well, ASB, mock trial, maintaining a 4.0 GPA, several volunteer hours, a job at KOZE Radio, earning valedictorian. Phew that impressive list will most likely continue when he goes off to university.

"I applied and was accepted early decision to Tufts University, right next to Harvard,” said Wilson.

Will is looking to study international relations and education, with some foreign language thrown in. After that...

"I'm looking to join the Peace Corps once I get out of college but from there I don't know what I want to do,” said Wilson.

He’s interested in teaching someday, maybe even at the college level. But wherever he chooses to go, he’ll face it head on.

"I've never been afraid to say I'm going to step that far,” said Wilson. “I may get homesick but I'm not afraid of it."

Congratulations Will Wilson, you’re this week’s “Academic All-Star.”
