BOISE, ID — A reminder that Idaho’s Primary Election is by absentee ballot only due to concern over COVID-19.
To request an absentee ballot, you can go to your county clerk’s website for the online or paper absentee request form.
The completed request forms must be returned to your county clerk’s office no later than May 19.
Keep in mind, it may take 10 to 14 days for receipt to process and return your absentee ballot to you by mail.
Elections officials say your voted ballot must be returned to your county clerk’s office by June 2 in order to be counted.
The Secretary of State’s Office mailed more than 550,000 ballot request forms statewide.
Officials said most voters are returning the ballot request forms in the mail to their county elections office with no problems. But some are putting the request form in an envelope and mailing to the state.
All ballot request postcards include pre-paid postage, so voters don’t need to worry about stamps, and are pre-addressed so they are sent directly to voters’ county elections offices.
