The Asotin County Library has been celebrating the re-opening of one of their branches all week, culminating in a big finale this weekend.

The Asotin County Library will celebrate the Grand Opening of the branch on Sycamore and 5th on Saturday.

The library closed for several months for reconstruction.

Library Director Jennifer Ashby said this celebration will be especially meaningful, as one of the employees who helped in the years of planning will have a special place in the new space.

"We will be dedicating Trina's mezzanine which is dedicated to Trina Slay, who's a former employee of ours who passed away in 2014,” Ashby said. “It's a huge day for us. We have been raising funds since fall of 2013 to build this mezzanine and we've done it all with private money. To actually get to this day and be able to have this celebration is really exciting."

The Grand Opening ceremony is this Saturday October 13. Doors open at 11:00 and the ribbon cutting is at 11:30a.m.

Music, activities, and food will follow until 2:00 p.m.
