Body of missing Lewiston woman found in Snake River

Just before 11:00 a.m. Friday morning, members of the Nez Perce County Dive team found the body of 19-year old Elizabeth Krueger.

She was located in about 25 feet of water on the Idaho side of the Buffalo Eddy area. The body will be taken to Spokane for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Asotin County Undersheriff Jody Brown said no foul play is suspected however, the investigation will continue at this time.

The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s office dive team, Asotin County Search and Rescue and the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office all participated in the search efforts.

Family has been notified.

Krueger was reported missing at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. She had been camping on the beach at Buffalo Eddy. She was last seen around 3:00 a.m.

The search went into the night until about 11:00 p.m.

It resumed early Friday morning.

The Asotin County Sheriff’s Office want to remind all those who recreate on the water to remember the dangers that come with it. Always use caution and sound judgement on the area river systems.
