A disturbing email is making its way around Lewiston and Moscow businesses.

According to City of Lewiston officials, several businesses in Lewiston have reported receiving threatening emails asking for $20,000 in Bitcoin or the sender will have their “mercenary” bring a bomb into the business.

A bomb has not been found at any of the locations, and Lewiston Police have told owners that if they want to keep operating as normal, that is up to their discretion, but to stay on the lookout for anything suspicious.

The emails are coming from “Claire Washington” at this address: janine@tonumbers.com.

A couple businesses in the City of Moscow have also reported receiving the same message.

If you receive an email from the address above, do not open it.

Pick up the phone and report it to Lewiston Police Detective Brian Birdsell immediately at 208-746-0171 or email him.

Across the nation, similar emails have been circulating.
