Clarkston fire officials investigate what sparked a house fire on 15th Street
CLARKSTON, WA —
A fire broke out at 1326 15th Street in Clarkston around two o’clock Tuesday afternoon. Fire officials say no one was inside the home at the time, but one woman working around the house said that flames were big enough that Asotin County Fire District 1 immediately called for mutual aid from Lewiston Fire.
“We still have a lot of heat and in the daytime and so in a structure fire we can go through firefighters pretty quickly and so a precaution we bring in other fire crews to help back up,” said Chief Noel Hardin.
About 12 firefighters were on the scene. Once crews arrived they found smoke and flames coming from the front door. It took them three or four minutes to knock out the fire.
The cause is under investigation.
