A high speed collision on Highway 12 sends two people to the hospital. It happened just after one o’clock today west of Arrow Bridge.

Idaho State Police said that a Chevy Silverado driven by Cully Hix of Juliaetta, headed eastbound, tried to pass the car in front of him. That’s when it ran into a Toyota Camry driven by Mallory Petrie of Lewiston. For a while, one person was trapped in the wreckage.

Both drivers are hospitalized, but police will have to monitor their conditions as part of the investigation.

ISP Sheriff Travis Hight said, “We're following up on the condition of both drivers and I am currently taking laser measurements of the scene so we can reconstruct what happened with that evidence.

Both drivers were taken to St. Josephs Regional Medical Center. The collision is still under investigation.
