Doing the right thing is what Lewiston Parks and Recreation employee Spencer Gray is known for.

But recently doing the right thing landed him in the hospital.

Spencer is a well-known member of the Parks and Rec team, helping kids get out and play with the Rec Mobile. And if you've ever been into the office you may have seen his dog, Olive, hanging out with him.

Last Friday, September 22, Spencer tried to break up a fight in Moscow, and ended up badly beaten himself.

Friend Jesse Maldonado says, "Trying to break up a fight and the fight ended up encompassing him, causing some damage to his face and he lost some teeth. So that's where Spencer is at right now is just in need of a little bit of money to recover."

His friends heard about the incident through social media after a Gofundme page was set up for Spencer's medical expenses. They decided to host a fundraiser to help with costly medical expenses.

Riverport Brewing owner Pete Broyles says Spencer is a regular customer and good friend. "The event is called Wieners for Spencer and that's in honor of his wiener dog. We're going to have some live music out here on the deck, I went up and bought some Vandal sausages so we're going to have some Vandal dogs. We're doing a donation for the food. Free to one-hundred dollars, whatever you want to give." Wieners for Spencer is Saturday, September 30th at Riverport Brewing in Clarkston. The event runs from noon until 5 P.M. and features an auction, live music, and those Vandal dogs.A dollar from every pint sold will also go towards Spencer's medical expenses.
