Fast acting neighbor calls 911 to house fire in Asotin
ASOTIN, WA —
A house fire in the city of Asotin broke out just before three o’clock Wednesday afternoon in the 800 block of 3rd Street.
Crews from Asotin County Fire District 1 and Clarkston Fire responded.
Grace Draper, a neighbor, had just picked up her kids from school when she saw smoke coming out of the home. She quickly called 911.
Despite life-saving efforts by firefighters, the home’s dog didn’t make it.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
This is just the latest house fire in recent weeks in the LC Valley and on the Palouse, which appears to be a busier season for fire crews than this time last year.
