Knights of Columbus giveaway 200 coats to Whitman Elementary School

The Knights of Columbus here in Lewiston brought a truck load of coats to Whitman Elementary School. They started buying and collecting them in the spring, and Friday... The culmination of 200 coats were brought to help keep local kids warm through the winter.

The Knights of Columbus participate in many charitable events year round, but grand knight, Richard Baerlocher said the coat drive is the one that impacts them the most. "Fills the heart, we know it's needed, and we're happy to fill that need, to the best of our capability. It really makes a guy feel good," Richard explained.

All of the coats will be divided up and handed out to several local school. On top of providing coats, they also presented a $1500 check for Whitman Elementary’ s food pantry.
