Man accused of killing infant goes to trial in December in Lewiston
On December 12, 2018, Daniel Robert Alldrin is scheduled to stand trial in Nez Perce County.
He is accused of killing his daughter in May of 2016. She was born on April 17, 2016.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the autopsy report on August 18, 2016 from Forensic Pathologist John D. Howard found she died of blunt abdominal trauma.
"As of the date of this report, no plausible explanation of the fatal injury by accidental means has been brought forth," he wrote. "The injuries identified clinically and at autopsy are consistent with having been inflicted by another person."
Alldrin maintains his innocence. In 2016, he told investigators he believed a speaker fell on top of his daughter when he wasn't looking.
After a jury in Clearwater County could not be seated, the case was vacated and a change of venue motion was granted.
It has now been moved to Nez Perce County where Judge Gregory Fitzmaurice will preside.
According to online court information and confirmation from a Nez Perce County court staff member, trial is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. December 12, 2018.
