New name and ownership of Pullman Train Depot
PULLMAN, WA —
The Whitman County Historical Society has purchased the Pullman train depot.
The Pufferbelly depot is no more, enter the Pullman Depot Heritage Center.
A group of Washington State University students and staff called the Rural Communities Design Initiative will help design the center.
The center will include the history of the area and railroad.
Before they begin work they need to downsize the area.
They are offering railroad cars on Craigslist for free you just have to remove them yourself.
"Right now we are working on finding new places for three of the rail cars, this one right behind me here and the caboose we are going to keep," said Linda Hackbath co-chair of the project.
They hope to settle on a design and begin fundraising for the project this coming January.
