An investigation is underway into an apparent fatal plane crash in Idaho County.
According to a press release sent to KLEW News Tuesday morning, the Idaho County Sheriff's Office was notified of a fire on August 11.
There was a fire located up Harris Ridge.
Idaho Department of Lands and the Forest Service were advised of the fire and a Forest Service employee located debris in the area of the reported fire.
Idaho County Deputies and Nez Perce Tribal Officers responded and located the wreckage of a plane that had been fully engulfed.
The Idaho County Coroner will be sending the remains for autopsy.
Names are pending confirmation of the passengers on the aircraft and family notification.
The FAA and NTSB will be investigating the plane crash.
