Runway closure sparks rumors of Pullman Airport closing
PULLMAN, WA —
The rumor that the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport is closing is false.
According to airport officials the rumor started at some type of city council meeting here in the LC Valley.
Tuesday, Pullman Airport received two dozen phone calls about the rumor. They received a dozen calls from concerned citizens who already purchased tickets and rely on the airport for work.
Airport Director, Tony Bean, believes the rumor likely stems from the closing of the runway to build a new one.
"The runway closure for Pullman Moscow is in 2019, the runway will close September 8th we will open up for general aviation operations on October 3rd when the airline will come back and we will have published approach procedures on October 10th,” said Bean.
The Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport is open for business.
