Suspects admit selling narcotics, weapons during traffic stop
LEWISTON, ID —
What started as a routine traffic stop, turned into a large drug bust.
Last Thursday, Idaho State Police pulled a vehicle over for a traffic violation near Lewiston.
A K-9 unit found 30 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and an open container of alcohol.
They also found over $34,000 in cash.
Sergeant Ken Yount said it’s uncommon to see that much cash on-hand at a time in this area.
The suspects admitted the money was from selling narcotics and weapons in multiple states. They are facing charges with misdemeanor possession.
Police say they were not locals.
