Idaho Basketball (men’s and women’s) get ready to hit the road

The Idaho Vandals women’s basketball team will have a tough start to its season.

This Friday, the Vandals will head to Fort Collin, Colorado to take one the Colorado State Rams.

It’ll be a tough start because the Rams are the reigning Mountain West women’s basketball regular season champs.

Women’s head coach Jon Newlee spoke about the match-up.

"I think everyone's pretty excited about it,” Newlee said.

The Idaho men’s basketball team will start it’s 2017/18 season on the road as well.

On Friday, the men will head to Reno, Nevada, taking on the Nevada Wolfpack.

Last season, the Wolfpack made it to the NCAA tournament as the 12 seed, but saw an early exit to Iowa State.

Tip-off is set for 7 PM.

For the men, senior guard Vic Sanders has been placed on the Lou Henson Award Watchlist.

The award is given to the nation’s top D-1 mid-major player.

Last season, Sanders averaged 21 points per game and made 101 3-pointers.

The second most in school history.

We’ll have more about Washington State and Lewis-Clark State basketball previews later this week.
