Idaho gets five All-Big Sky players
MOSCOW, ID —
The Idaho Vandal basketball teams are well represented on Big Sky all-conference teams.
Five Vandals, three from the women and two for the men’s were named to teams.
For the women, Mikayla Ferenz was named as a first-team player for the second straight year.
She finished the regular the season as the eighth best scorer in the nation, with 23 points per game.
She also ended the season as the fourth best 3-point shooter in the country.
Gerry McCorkell made the second team.
She has eight games in which got a double-double and 24 games in which she scored double-digit points.
McCorkell will go down as the ninth best scorer in Idaho women’s basketball history.
Taylor Pierce was named as an honorable mention.
She lead the Vandals in minutes, playing 37 out of 40 per game.
BJ Blake and Vic Sanders were both named to selections for the men.
Blake was a first-team selection, getting 11 double-doubles on the season, averaging 17 points and 10 rebounds per game.
Sanders was named to the second team, making this his third All-Big Sky selection while in Moscow.
He averaged 19 points per game and being the second leading scorer in Idaho history.
