Vandals victorious in 2017 Battle of the Palouse
MOSCOW, ID —
Idaho Vandals men’s basketball was flat out dominant on Wednesday night, beating the Washington State Cougars 91-64 in the 2017 Battle of the Palouse.
The game started out as a back-and-forth. Idaho’s senior guard Perrion Callandret made the first bucket of the night, which just so happened to be a 3-pointer.
But WSU’s Malachi Flynn would answer back with a 3-pointer.
And trading three’s like All-Star Weekend, Callandret answered Flynn’s three and raised him another triple.
The problem for the Cougs: they couldn’t keep up with the Vandals red hot shooting.
Idaho made 9/14 3-pointers in the first half, finishing the game making 14/25.
Whereas WSU made 4/16 in the first half.
Callandret and Idaho senior forward BJ Blake would go 4/4 behind the line in the first half.
Blake finished the game with a career high 26 points. The most any player has scored against the Cougs under Don Verlin.
