Washington State basketball secure wins before conference play


Both men’s and women’s basketball programs for Washington State won its last games before starting conference play.

The women beat the Nebraska Corn Huskers on the road early on Friday.

Borislava Hristova and Alexys Swedlund each scored 16 points, tying for leading scorer on the day.

Louise Brown got a double-double, grabbing 12 rebounds on 12 points, going 2/3 from the 3-point line.

The Cougs will stay on the road, starting Pac-12 play against the Oregon Ducks.

The men got the elusive 7th win against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats.

Since starting the season 6-0, WSU has lost four out of the last five, with the fifth win coming on Friday.

Like the women, the men will also start Pac-12 play on the road, taking on the UCLA Bruins in LA.
