Golden Throne fundraiser already making an impact in the LC Valley
LEWISTON, ID -- On Thursday at Lewiston High School, the final phase of the Golden Throne was completed.
The checks from the fundraiser was presented to five foundations and families from the LC Valley.
And with Clarkston and Lewiston High Schools raising more than $20,000, the communal impact that these high schoolers have done is already showing.
“Obliviously, treatment is a lot of money,” Lewiston High School senior Katie Vasser said, eyes red from crying. “My friend Bryn, who’s in leadership suggested my family be considered for the donations for the Golden Throne.”
The Vasser family was one of the recipients of the Golden Throne fundraiser.
The reason? Around Christmas time, Katie’s father, Bob was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer.
She represented her family.
“Me and my parents were really honored and just thankful that we were even considered,’ She said, surrounded by three friends. “It’ll really help us a lot.”
Just over $4,000 was given to the Vassers.
A Gofundme (https://www.gofundme.com/bob-vassar-donation-fund) page has been set up to help the family.
The Golden Throne, so much more than just a basketball double-header.
