LHS Cheer headed to Anaheim for Nationals

Saturday, March 18th, the Lewiston Bengals Cheer Team heads down to Boise to compete in state competition, but just a week later, the LHS Cheer Team will embark on a trip that will have much more on the line.

On March 23rd the team will jet out of town for Anaheim, California to compete in the USA Nationals Cheer Competition which will begin two days later on March 25th. This is the first time in the history of Lewiston Cheer that the Bengals will compete in Nationals. The team qualified for the event by sending in a live video tryout. The Bengals graded out at an 88%, they needed an 87.5% to qualify. The top 45% of teams will advance to day two of the competition and the Bengals plan on being their come day two.

"I really like the dynamic of this team,” said LHS Cheerleader Ashlee Bremer, “We all work really well together and we communicate really well. Everyone gets along with everyone.”

"The excitement level started when our coach told us we were going,” said LHS Cheerleader Natalie Wilson. “The excitement level hasn't dropped since that point. It's a mix of being excited and being nervous and being scared."

"Ultimately we have to go down there with the mindset that we're here to compete and we're here to try to win and you have to just really keep in mind that that's our job down there," said Ashlee.
