Mariners get big win in Houston


The Mariners riding the post all-star break wave. They’re at 500 a game and a half out of the second wild card spot. And tonight they beat the best team in the AL Houston Astros in the three-game series.

The Mariners’ bats were hot in Houston. Ben Gamel nails a two-run homer to give the Mariners the two-one lead in the top of the fourth inning.

Zunino now at the plate, hits a double that sends Danny Valencia home, adding to the Mariner lead. James Paxton’s was pitching straight heat tonight. He finished the game with seven strikeouts in seven innings pitched.

Seattle goes on to win 4 to 1 taking the three-game series.
