LAPWAI, ID- Kase Wynott was named player of the year by the Idaho Statesman, and was also named the Whitepine League player of the year.
The recognition comes after Wynott averaged just over 35 points per game this season, the eighth most in the entire nation. The junior has already reached 1,500 career points earlier this year.
He now has five division one offers to play basketball at the college level all coming from the big sky conference, while still having one more year left with the Wildcats.
“Coming from Idaho and in specific Lapwai just a small town playing 1a basketball it means a lot," Wynott said.
"It just proves that it doesn’t matter what size school you go to, because if you can play, then you can play.”
